When fluid pressure flows in one direction, the valve disc opens; when fluid flows in the opposite direction, the fluid pressure and the weight of the valve disc act on the valve seat, thus cutting off fluid flow. It is mainly used in pipelines where the medium flows in one direction only, allowing only unidirectional flow to prevent accidents.

The working principle of a ductile iron foot check valve:
When the water pump starts: the valve disc opens under negative pressure, and liquid is drawn into the pipe.
When the water pump stops: the valve disc closes under the action of gravity or spring force, preventing liquid backflow and keeping the suction pipe full of liquid.
Main types of foot check valves: According to design, they can be divided into single-disc foot valves that rely on the weight of the valve disc for sealing and double-disc foot valves that have good sealing performance and are suitable for high head or corrosive media. According to connection method, they can be divided into flange connection, threaded connection, and welding.
Application scenarios:
Bottom valves can be used in centrifugal pump systems to ensure normal self-priming (e.g., farmland irrigation, fire fighting systems). Bottom valves can also be used in tank trucks/storage tanks to prevent media backflow.
