Foam Fire Hydrant

The FUXEON® Foam Fire Hydrant is designed for foam fire suppression systems and is installed on the foam mixture pipeline to provide foam solution to connected firefighting equipment. As a specialized foam hydrant, it is commonly used in petrochemical enterprises, refineries, oil storage areas, aircraft hangars, and other facilities requiring foam-based fire protection.

The Foam Fire Hydrant is mainly composed of flanges, a cylinder, ball valves, and fire pipe threads. FUXEON® improves the traditional structure by using a lower valve plate for sealing. The pressure of the medium can contribute to the sealing force, helping maintain sealing performance during pressurized operation.

Outlet Design

Dual Discharge Ports

The FUXEON® Foam Fire Hydrant has two DN65 or DN80 discharge ports, with each outlet controlled by an individual brass ball valve. The outlets can be connected to compatible firefighting hoses and downstream foam discharge equipment.

When only one outlet is required, the ball valve on the unused outlet can be closed. This prevents foam solution leakage and helps maintain the required flow and pressure at the operating outlet.

Sealing Structure

The lower valve plate provides the main sealing function inside the hydrant. The medium pressure contributes to the sealing force, providing a simple structure for pressurized foam solution delivery.

The available configurations cover DN100 and DN150 inlet connections with DN65 or DN80 discharge outlets. The appropriate model should be selected according to pipeline diameter, connected firefighting equipment, required flow rate, and system design.

Equipment Connection

Hose and Foam Equipment

The Fire Hydrant provides two DN65 or DN80 outlets for connecting compatible firefighting hoses. A hose can be connected to a foam gun for manual foam discharge, or connected through a suitable hose or piping assembly to a foam monitor according to the system design.

The connection size and coupling should match the selected foam gun, foam monitor, hose, and operating pressure. When only one outlet is used, the second ball valve can be closed to prevent foam solution leakage and maintain the required flow and pressure at the operating outlet.

Material and Identification

Brass Ball Valve

FUXEON® uses brass ball valves as the hose connection controls. Brass provides corrosion resistance and mechanical strength for the operating environment and allows each discharge port to be operated independently.

Installation

Pipeline Arrangement

In a foam system, fixed foam storage tanks should be used according to the system design. Foam fire hydrants should be arranged evenly along the outer edge of the fire prevention embankment, with the spacing between foam fire hydrants not exceeding 60 meters according to the provided installation requirement.

The final layout should consider the protected area, foam pipeline arrangement, hose access, firefighting operation requirements, and applicable fire protection regulations.

Operating Method

During firefighting, the hose is connected to the required discharge port and the corresponding brass ball valve is opened to release the foam mixture.

Foam Fire Hydrant

If only one outlet is required, the valve on the other outlet should remain closed. This helps prevent unnecessary foam solution discharge and maintains the available flow through the operating outlet.

Applications

Industrial Fire Protection

The Fire Hydrant is designed for foam-based fire suppression systems where foam solution needs to be delivered from a fixed pipeline to hose-connected or fixed discharge equipment.

Typical applications include petrochemical enterprises, oil refineries, oil storage facilities, aircraft hangars, and other industrial areas where flammable liquid fire protection requires foam extinguishing systems.

Quality Control

Product Testing

FUXEON® products are tested to verify their quality and operating performance before supply. The Fire Hydrant is provided with defined inlet and outlet configurations and a dedicated identification label to support product selection and traceability.

The products have certificates issued by the third-party TI Group testing institution, providing supporting documentation for product quality verification.

Management Systems

FUXEON® operates under certified management systems including GB/T 19001-2016 / ISO 9001:2015, GB/T 24001-2016 / ISO 14001:2015, GB/T 45001-2020 / ISO 45001:2018, and GB/T 27922-2011.

Selection Guide

Connection Size

The inlet size should match the foam mixture pipeline, while the outlet size should correspond to the connected fire hose or foam discharge equipment. FUXEON® provides DN100 and DN150 inlet configurations with DN65 or DN80 outlet options.

Outlet Operation

The two outlets allow different firefighting configurations. Both can be used when simultaneous discharge is required by the system design, while one outlet can remain closed when only a single hose or discharge device is being operated.

FAQ

What Is Its Main Function?

The Foam Fire Hydrant is installed on the foam mixture pipeline and provides foam solution to connected firefighting equipment such as hoses, foam guns, or foam monitors.

What Equipment Can It Connect To?

The outlets can connect to compatible firefighting hoses. These hoses may then be connected to a foam gun for manual operation or to a foam monitor through a suitable connection assembly.

Can Only One Outlet Be Used?

Yes. When only one outlet is required, the ball valve of the unused outlet can be closed to prevent foam solution leakage and help maintain the required flow and pressure.

What Is the Rated Pressure?

The listed PS100-65×2, PS150-65×2, and PS150-80×2 models have a nominal pressure of 1.6 MPa.

What Are the Available Inlet Sizes?

The listed models use DN100 or DN150 inlet connections, with DN65 or DN80 dual discharge outlets.

What Is the Maximum Hydrant Spacing?

According to the provided installation requirement, foam fire hydrants should be evenly arranged along the outer edge of the fire prevention embankment, and the spacing should not exceed 60 meters. The final arrangement should follow the applicable project design and fire protection regulations.

Is the Product Traceable?

Yes. FUXEON® products are provided with dedicated identification labels containing production information, including the production date and applicable standards.
