The New Standard GB15090-2026 for "Fire Hose Reel"

1. Appearance Quality

(1) The surface of the manual fire hose reel should be treated for corrosion resistance. The paint layer should be uniform and there should be no scratches. The welds should be smooth and uniform, firmly welded, blemishes, etc.

2. Structural Requirements

(1) Swing type fire hose reel should consist of two discs, with a disc diameter not exceeding 700 mm. 3/4" fire hose reel with an inner diameter of ϕ19，1" fire hose reel with an inner diameter of ϕ25,and spool diameter should not be less than 180 mm. For hose pipe with an inner diameter of ϕ32, the spool diameter should not be less than 250 mm. For hose pipe with an inner diameter of ϕ38, the spool diameter should not be less than 350 mm.

(2) Ball valves should comply with the provisions of GB/T13927. The opening and closing directions of brass ball valve should be clearly marked. Clockwise direction is closed. If a gate valve or stop valve is used, it should be fully opened within three and a half turns of the handwheel. When using an automatic inlet valve, the opening and closing directions should be clearly marked. The automatic inlet valve should be fully opened within three turns of manual swing type fire hose reel.

(3) The connection between the hose pipe and the reel should ensure that the pipe near the connection does not flatten when it is wound.

3. There should be no leakage at any part of the hose reel or any connection, and the hose and reel should not show significant deformation.

4. The starting torque for rotating the PVC hose reel should not exceed 20 N·m.

5. The brass spray fire nozzle should have a switch; the "on" and "off" switching function should be completed by a single action.

6. The hose surface should be smooth, without damage, scratches, or local bulges. The printing should be clear and complete，include the fire hose reel’s working pressure, inner diameter, and the manufacturer's name or trademark.

7. The correct usage method and periodic inspection requirements should be clearly indicated in text and graphics in a visible location.

 
8. Installation Requirements

a) If non-fire truck hose reel are placed in fire hydrant cabinet, sufficient space should be ensured so that the hose pipe can be freely pulled out in any direction after the fire hose reel cabinet is opened. double door hose reel cabinet used in humid environments should have moisture-proof and ventilation measures.

b) If gate valve are used in stainless steel hose reel cabinet, sufficient space should be left around the handwheel to ensure opening.
